History
Jimmy Singh grew up in the trucking world. His dad started a trucking company in 1985 with 10 trucks. Jimmy wanted to make it on his own and started as an owner operator in 1993. After 4 years of building relationships and successfully running his business, Jimmy decided to grow his trucking company in 1997. At this time 4 company trucks and 16 owner operators comprised the fleet. Correspondingly, these owner operators came
to work with Jimmy due to the relationships they had and their ability to believe in his vision.
As of 2024, BIR Transport consists of 65 trucks and 130 dry-van trailers providing services to fortune 500 companies such as; Pepsi, Kimberly Clark, Resolute Forest Products, and WestRock. Providing award winning transport services in the south-east and mid-west.
In 2016, Jimmy Singh began his journey into real-estate development. By 2019, he was buying several residential, commercial, and industrial properties. In 2022, Jimmy Singh broke ground on the development of a 33-acre residential community located in Oak Ridge. Also, in the same year purchased a 72-acre abandoned truck stop in the Dandridge area. These projects required extensive excavation and construction resources. Looking to grow and strengthen the BIR Team, BIR Developments was born, which provides excavation and construction services. During early excavation both properties were found to be rich in rock, this put the
projects in jeopardy as the cost of removing the rock was exorbitant.
However, doing what he does best,
Jimmy pivoted into utilizing this rock to kick-start BIR Materials and BIR Concrete. Utilizing this internal
network, allows Singh to be a one stop shop for his customers for all their development, materials, concrete, and transport needs.
“Opportunity does not come when you are ready for it, you must be ready for the opportunity when it
arrives.” – Jimmy Singh
